• For the academic year 2023-24, the Ph.D. registration portal shall be opened more than one time in an academic year. In Phase I, only the candidates who are eligible on the basis of qualifying UGC-NET (including JRF)/ UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/ AYUSH-NET/DBT-JRF, ICMR-JRF, DST-INSPIRE or equivalent national level examination/fellowship (as identified by DRC)/ GATE/ teacher fellowship holders and others (as per Ordinance VI, Notification: Amendments to Ordinances dated 09th August, 2017 and its Amendments approved by the Executive Council in its meeting held on 01-02.07.2019) will be able to apply.
• Prior to online registration, the candidates are advised to read the contents of the Bulletin of Information carefully and also consult the Delhi University Act, 1922 and its Statutes. The Ordinances, Rules, and Regulations of the University of Delhi available on the University website, www.du.ac.in would be binding on them.
• The admission of the candidates for Ph.D. Program is governed by the Ordinance VI and its amendments of the University of Delhi.
• University reserves the right to revise, amend, update, or delete any part of the Bulletin without giving any prior notice. Any change so made shall be updated on the Ph.D. Admission Portal. Changes made in any Program after the release of the Bulletin of Information shall become effective from the date it is posted on Ph.D. Admission Portal http://www.admissions.uod.ac.in.
• The candidates are advised to ascertain the Minimum Eligibility Criteria for the program(s) they are applying for. The candidate's participation in the Admission Procedure will be provisional. If at any stage, it is found that he/she doesn't fulfill the Minimum Eligibility Criteria, his/her admission, if granted, will be cancelled ipso facto, and appropriate legal action will be taken against him/her.
• In case of non-compliance with any of the requirements for admission including the non-submission of relevant documents and/or non-payment of fees within the prescribed date and time, the candidate will lose his / her right to admission.
• If at any stage, original documents relating to the admission of a candidate are found to be fake/ non-genuine or fabricated or in any other manner defective, the said candidate will not be admitted; and if already admitted, admission will be cancelled without any prior notice in this regard. If the same is found after the completion of Program, his/her degree will be cancelled and appropriate legal action will be taken against him/her.
• Candidates are responsible for regularly checking the portal for any updates. Grievances resulting from lack of reading / consulting this bulletin and information published/uploaded on the websites of the Department from time to time will not be entertained.
• Candidates must check the respective department’s website for details related to admission in Ph.D., including declaration of Admission Lists.

Du phd admission 2023 phase 2 registrations are underway. candidates willing to enrol themselves for the academic year 2023-24 can do so at the official website, admission.uod.ac.in. check easy steps to apply online, application fee, and other details..

Who is eligible?

All those who did not apply in the phase one round are eligible to apply for the phase 2 round. Candidates who have qualified M.Phil and Ph.D. entrance test 2023-24 are eligible to submit applications for phase 2. Candidates who have already registered in Phase One and wish to update their details may do so in the second phase. 

What's next?

According to the official schedule, the interviews will be conducted from December 22 to January 22. The recommendation of DRC and BRS will be done by January 29, 2024. The last date to remit the application fee is January 31, 2024.

• Candidates are first required to visit the official website, phd2023.uod.ac.in
• Click on the 'registration' button
• Enter your details such as first name, middle name, last name, date of birth, category and other details
• After successful registration, login with generated credentials and click on the 'submit' button
• DU Ph.D. Admission 2023 Phase 2 registration will appear on the screen
• Take a printout of the application form for future reference

• SC/ST/PwBD: Rs. 300/- for each course
• All other Categories (Unreserved, OBC(NCL), EWS etc.) : Rs. 750/- for each course

Selection Criteria

Admission of the candidates for Ph.D. Program is based on the suitability to specific specializations and is also subject to fulfilling all other conditions laid down in the respective Ordinances of the University of Delhi.

Eligibility for PhD Admissions 2023-24

(i) Stage 1: Objective type Screening Test: All candidates without UGC/CSIR-NET/JRF/GATE/Teacher Fellowship/MPhil Degree will appear in an objective type screening test, to be conducted by the University through NTA.

(ii) Stage 2: Essay type Written test and Interview: Candidates clearing NTA's objective type screening test, and all candidates irrespective of UGC/CSIR-NET/JRF/GATE, will appear in an essay-type written test of 40 Marks, followed by interviews of 10 Marks to be conducted by the Department.

(iii) Teacher Fellowship/MPhil Degree Holders are exempted from Stage 2 written test, however, they need to appear for an interview of 50 Mark.

(iv) Merit will be prepared for final admission as above.
