  • Research and benchmark best practices in industrial and organizational (I/O) initiatives and provides recommendations on innovative and practical solutions that support organizational needs and culture. Leads the design and implementation of complex Industrial and organizational (I/O) psychology initiatives in the area of Career Development.
  • Plans and conducts needs assessments/competency modeling studies, by gathering information (e.g., interviews, focus groups, surveys) about duties and requirements of the position. Analyzes essential functions, tasks, and competencies. Writes a report documenting the results and conducts studies to determine the predictive effectiveness of existing tests for specific occupations.
  • Prepares program guidelines and initiatives and acts as a subject matter expert and/or a recognized technical authority in the development and interpretation of industrial organizational research initiatives, cultural implications, and related ethical and social policies.
  • Utilizes quantitative and/or qualitative analysis techniques including evaluative research methods and sampling statistics - performing univariate and multivariate statistical analyses using software such as Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and/or Statistical Analysis System (SAS).
  • Prepares and presents briefing materials (e.g., technical reports, executive summaries, PowerPoint presentations) that communicate technical information to non technical audiences of all levels.

Qualifications

Must have at least a bachelor's degree withmajor or equivalent in psychology.

Additional Qualification Requirement: In addition to meeting the Basic Qualification Requirement candidates must also:Have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:

  • Evaluating and analyzing data related to areas such as career development, employee recruitment, selection, engagement, and talent management.
  • Consulting and assisting in the development and implementation of human capital practices and initiatives, such as career development, job analysis, employee engagement, performance management, change management, organizational assessments and development, and competency modeling.
  • Facilitating sessions with leadership teams and groups of employees to conduct action planning, team development and change management.

Foreign Education: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
